The Aprilia company was founded by Cavalier Alberto Beggio very soon after the Second World War in the small town of Noale in the Venice province. They first started by producing bicycles but after Cavalier asked his son, Ivano, to join the company in 1968, the focus quickly turned to Motorcycles. According to wikepedia, the first motorcycle had a blue and gold colour scheme and had a 50cc engine.
